Research Education Care of patients
Our interest is in all aspects of heart, lung and cardiovascular disease. We award grants to the National Heart and Lung Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London to assist the Institute in carrying out research, development and education in heart and lung medicine. Our grant making policy is to distribute grant aid to support activities within National Heart & Lung Institute that will best assist the Institute in maintaining and improving the already excellent quality of its research programmes and outcomes.
The Institute has a close association with Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the UK's first Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC). These associations provide the Institutes’ multi-disciplinary team of doctors, scientists and students with a unique opportunity to look at a wide range of clinical and scientific problems. The Institute’s great strengths in biomedical science are enhanced by access to the mathematics, physics and engineering capabilities of Imperial College London.
